The one hard requirement: dry
Corrugated loses roughly half its compression strength at high humidity, and a box that stood in water carries a permanent tide line and permanent strength loss even after it dries. Wet boxes are not a discount — they are a different material with a different destination.
Keep boxes off bare concrete (it wicks moisture straight into the bottom board), knock them down within about 48 hours of emptying, and keep them under a roof. Those three habits are worth more to your settlement than anything else you could do.
Sorted or unsorted — both work
You have two options and neither is wrong.
- Sort on your floor. You grade into A, B and C, we verify on arrival and pay per category. Best rate, costs you labour.
- Ship mixed. We grade on our line and pay a blended rate agreed in advance. Lower rate, zero labour, no arguments about what counts as a repair.
Most standing-route customers start with mixed and move to sorted once they see the spread. Somewhere around 300 boxes a month, the labour pays for itself comfortably.
Freight, and who pays for it
If the material has value, we cover the freight out of the purchase — you get a net number, not an invoice and a credit to reconcile. If you are asking us to remove material with no value (soaked boxes, contaminated fiber, mixed debris), there is a haul charge, and you will see that number before anything rolls.
The cheapest possible arrangement is a paired load: we deliver graded boxes and take your empties home on the same trailer. One linehaul instead of two, roughly 40% off each direction.
What we cannot take
- Wet, mouldy or pest-infested fiber — a worker safety issue before it is a quality one.
- Wax-coated board — it does not repulp and it contaminates an entire bale.
- Chemically contaminated boxes without documentation of what was in them.
- Boxes with food residue or grease soaked into the fiber.

What is the minimum quantity you will pick up?
Around 100 boxes for a dedicated metro pickup, fewer if we already run a route near you. For smaller quantities you are welcome to bring them to the yard on E Richey Rd during dock hours.
How much are my boxes worth?
It depends on wall count, size, grade, quantity and distance, and the OCC market moves. Send quantity, size and a photograph and you will get an actual number rather than a range.
Do you buy pallets too?
Yes — GMA A and B grade, heat-treated, and plastic. Usually on the same truck.
Can you take everything in a warehouse cleanout?
Yes. Mixed boxes, pallets, loose corrugated and the rest. We sort, buy what has value, credit it against the haul and give you one settlement.
