It is a working yard off I-45. In August it is hot, and the covered areas help but they do not air condition an open bay. Boxes are heavy, dusty and occasionally unpleasant on the inside. Nobody here pretends otherwise in an interview and then surprises you in week two.
What we can say: the work is genuinely useful, the standards are written down so nobody is guessing what good looks like, and the person who spots that a pallet was mis-graded gets thanked rather than argued with. We pay above the local yard average because turnover on a grading line is far more expensive than wages.
Hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 to 17:00 with a Saturday morning rotation. Overtime exists but is not assumed. If you need a fixed schedule for school or childcare, say so in the application — we would rather build the roster around it than lose someone good three months in.
